    Drunk Driving Indianapolis

Whether you have received a DUI, OWI, DWI, or drunk driving, this crime is defined as operating a motor vehicle while having a blood alcohol content exceeding the state legal limit. You are considered to be legally drunk in Indiana if you have BAC of at least .08%. If you have a commercial driver's license, however, the limit is .04%. If you're younger than 21, the limit is only .02%. Additionally, if your BAC is over .15%, you will face more severe punishment.

Consequences of Receiving an OWI include:

    • Loss of driving privileges for 90 days to 2 years
    • Possible jail time
    • Fines
    • Possible ignition interlock device installed
    • More severe penalties for habitual offenders

Along with court penalties that can impact your finances, you will also have to face the insurance company’s consequences. This may mean your premiums increase greatly or a possibility of being dropped and haveing the burden of finding a new insurance company to insure you.

Drinking and driving is a very serious offense. Law makers are making it increasingly harder for offenders to avoid serious penalties. Make sure you know you legal rights and have representation that can bring you the best possible outcome of your case.
